YACHT: opening for LCD Soundsystem

Posted by Flick in Uncategorized on 05 1st, 2007 | View Comments

Jona Bechtolt - YACHTLCD Soundsystem's upcoming tour in May has had a few changes at the last minute. Prinzehorn Dance School, label mates of LCD Soundsystem's DFA Records, had Visa troubles and had to cancel on the tour. DFA announced on April 26, "We realize this almost seems cliche by now for overseas bands, but it is the truth. We are truly saddened that they will not be joining LCD Soundsystem on the US tour, but swear they will be back very soon." The tour is moving ahead as planned, instead with YACHT.

YACHT, Jona Bechtolt, is celebrating the release of I Believe in You, Your Magic is Real… on a yacht. The two part party will be in YACHT - I Believe In You. Your Magic Is RealPortland, Oregon. The first part of the party will include Juice Team DJs, Bobby Birdman, and YACHT, then the party will dock and move into a museum. DJ Beyonda, E*Rock, Adrian Orange and the Child Slave Rebellion, and YACHT, joined by his band, will perform in the Oregon Museum of Science and Industries.

YACHT will continue on tour with LCD Soundsystem until the May 14 show in New York, New York. The next night, Yacht will perform in Salt Lake City and begin working their way towards Texas. At Emo's in Austin, Tussle will join the tour, and then on June 13 Yacht will play six West Coast shows with Architecture in Helsinki.

Far from the first time that he has worked with these bands, Jona Bechtolt remixed two Architecture in Helsinki songs as well as a Tussle song, on a 13 track remix album, Our Friends In Hell.

YACHT – See a Penny (Pick it Up)
Architecture in Helsinki – Nevereverdid (YACHT remix)

about us

Puddlegum began in 1997 as one of the first online music magazines. It is managed by Flick, and has gained respect from many in the recording industry.

Over the years Puddlegum has accomplished quite a few things we are proud of:
Being mentioned by Thom Yorke during a BBC Radio interview (concerning our Tens Theory), and being written about in Rolling Stone. We have also made the front page of TUAW, Digg, and VH1’s Best Week Ever, and have been featured on USA Today, and Reuters.
