Wild Sweet Orange – Ten Dead Dogs

Posted by Flick in Media, Mp3 Singles on 07 31st, 2008 | View Comments

From the Sneak Attack press release:

Produced by Mike McCarthy (Spoon), the album reflects an honest and intense rock sound with a dynamic control and a deep lyrical quality rare in such a young band.  For singer and songwriter Preston Lovinggood, the album’s provocative title serves as both an ideal statement of intent as well as a strong assertion of identity. “It’s being honest about who we are and where we’ve come from,” Lovinggood explains. “It’s hopeful and weary at the same time,” he adds. “To be aware of the situation, to understand there is a cause, is a healthy place to be.”

With the years-in-the-making WE HAVE CAUSE TO BE UNEASY finally ready to reach the people, Lovinggood can’t help but look back with pride on how just far he and the band have traveled.  “It’s like we’ve been in the belly of the whale for the past three or four years and now we’ve finally been spit out,” Lovinggood says. “We’re taking all of our experiences and bringing them onstage every night. We’ve put all of ourselves into this record. We’ve given it our all and I think it’s a great picture of our life.

Thanks for sharing this. Love the song and Preston has an AMAZING voice! I never would have heard it if I hadn’t come across your blog. Glad I found it! I’ll be back.

Mystically ~ oranges relate to having visions and successful quests, sounds like the perfect title for this record.

Hey Ma Rainey, we’re hooked on the band too. The entire album is great from start to finish.

about us

Puddlegum began in 1997 as one of the first online music magazines. It is managed by Flick, and has gained respect from many in the recording industry.

Over the years Puddlegum has accomplished quite a few things we are proud of:
Being mentioned by Thom Yorke during a BBC Radio interview (concerning our Tens Theory), and being written about in Rolling Stone. We have also made the front page of TUAW, Digg, and VH1’s Best Week Ever, and have been featured on USA Today, and Reuters.
