(I meant to share this with you earlier.)
From The Orchard press release:

Barsuk Records is pleased to announce that the What Made Milwaukee Famous SugarHill Sessions digital EP is now available via eMusic and barsuk.com, and free to download until November 17th. The SugarHill Sessions EP offers listeners a chance to hear the pure heart of the music of Austin, TX quintet What Made Milwaukee Famous. It’s just five guys in a classic Texas studio with guitars, piano and simple percussion, performing their songs in one take. No bells, no whistles, no overdubs. Called “the Abbey Road of the South”, SugarHill is the oldest continually operating studio in Texas. Having played host to the likes of Lightnin’ Hopkins, Johnny Bush, and Willie Nelson, SugarHill has been quietly contributing to the musical legacy of Texas for the past 67 years. Until November 17th, you can snag the EP for free here:

What Made Milwaukee Famous combine influences from the best of indie rock, 70’s power pop, and modern rock radio into something truly timeless and eminently hummable. What Doesn’t Kill Us, their sophomore Barsuk release, is a polished, cohesive set of energetic, forceful, and impassioned music which Spin called “positively exuberant.” Later this month, What Made Milwaukee Famous will hit the road for a short run of West Coast dates.

about us

Puddlegum began in 1997 as one of the first online music magazines. It is managed by Flick, and has gained respect from many in the recording industry.

Over the years Puddlegum has accomplished quite a few things we are proud of:
Being mentioned by Thom Yorke during a BBC Radio interview (concerning our Tens Theory), and being written about in Rolling Stone. We have also made the front page of TUAW, Digg, and VH1’s Best Week Ever, and have been featured on USA Today, and Reuters.
