ISTANBUL – There is nothing like receiving a big fat good news along with a groovy song while drinking your Monday morning coffee just before the devastating weekly work stress starts showing up slyly. That’s how you deal with the day and enjoy the m.u.s.i.c.!
Labrador neats The Radio Dept. are finally releasing the album #3: Clinging to A Scheme. It’s been 3 years! This is exciting! The blurred sound of this Swedish trio have made a strong base of fans to themselves despite what the magazines and critics have rated up to date. Their ambivalent sound curling between synths and distortion with a strict dreamy ambiance has already made itself a unique place in the Swedish pop department.
Following highly adored album by fans: Pet Grief (2006), the band were supposed to master this next stuff by the fall of 2007. Things happened and the big – torturant delay leaded the release until 2009. So what? More you wait more you appreciate it! They say…
First single from the album David is due to release June 24th of course in a Labrador royalty. David is a modest tune with its feet on the ground. Such a dreamy twee pop melody glued to the moderate beats along with the sine qua non shoegazing elements. And as usual Johan Duncanson’s frequent singing making a seducing breeze over the ears! This is far from being a grower as the catchy melody grabs your enthusiasm with first moment you click on play! Needless to say I am satisfied and highly eager and curious to hear the rest. Considering the amount of fun I had during their Istanbul gig about couple years ago, feeling even more dead set for an urgent European tour.
Ladies and gentlemen landing in the bourne of Dream Pop; here we are holding forth the dear David only for a starters from the upcoming wonders of The Radio Dept. Enjoy!
