The Present: On Tour with the new album coming

Posted by Champersnova in Music on 05 29th, 2009 | View Comments

The PresentISTANBUL – The name Rusty Santos would ring a bell in the obscure minds of experimental music diggers. His producing Animal Collective’s Sung Tongs have been long time praised by this new weird noise addicts. As some of you may know; his coming together with Jesse Lee (White Magic / Gang Gang Dance) and Mina formed The Present; another brave act to fill up noise lovers’ players.

Following their debut The World I See; this group of experimental people are to release the second album The Way We Are through Lo Recordings / LOAF.

New album seems to be coming quite promiseful of drone ambiance invaded by the obscure noise. Once again Andrew Kuo signed artwork is implying. Inspired by almost everything dark for your liking that you can imagine of. (This is for the dark types obviously.) Sizzling background sound ambiance of Lynch films to Warhol, Nietzsche; mountains to deep rivers… darker side of life supposedfully coded in between the sinister sounds of The Present.

In support of this very new project The Present are now touring all across the USA. For those who want to join to this freak-ish theraphy here is the list of where you can find them:

This reminds me of a when I used to play synth patches over Swing Out Sister b-sides on my uncle’s Casio.

about us

Puddlegum began in 1997 as one of the first online music magazines. It is managed by Flick, and has gained respect from many in the recording industry.

Over the years Puddlegum has accomplished quite a few things we are proud of:
Being mentioned by Thom Yorke during a BBC Radio interview (concerning our Tens Theory), and being written about in Rolling Stone. We have also made the front page of TUAW, Digg, and VH1’s Best Week Ever, and have been featured on USA Today, and Reuters.
