The Subjects: to release With The Ease Grace Precision and Cleverness of Human Beings

Posted by Flick in Uncategorized on 01 8th, 2007 | View Comments

The SubjectsFebruary 20 brings the debut full-length release by The Subjects, With The Ease Grace Precision and Cleverness of Human Beings, via Pretty Activity Records. This Brooklyn based four-piece, "formed while two members were teachers and the two others their high school students." With influences from The French Kicks to Talking Heads, The Subjects will find a home with fans of Clap Your Hands Say Yeah.

The Subjects have a CD release tour planned, with more tours coming. In November they sat down with Daytrotter for an interview and recording session that's worth checking out.

Pretty Activity Records explains the band's inception:
"After forming to play a school carnival in 2004 they realized a common goal of making music. They quickly got their act together and played shows around New York. The Subjects recorded the EP after a tour spanning from Michigan to Boston. The EP was recorded on a four-track cassette machine in a weekend. It is self-released."

    about us

Puddlegum began in 1997 as one of the first online music magazines. It is managed by Flick, and has gained respect from many in the recording industry.

Over the years Puddlegum has accomplished quite a few things we are proud of:
Being mentioned by Thom Yorke during a BBC Radio interview (concerning our Tens Theory), and being written about in Rolling Stone. We have also made the front page of TUAW, Digg, and VH1’s Best Week Ever, and have been featured on USA Today, and Reuters.
