The Society Islands: Kiss and Tell debut coming October 20

Posted by Flick in Uncategorized on 08 26th, 2006 | View Comments

Boris Rogowski hails from Cologne, Germany, and is releasing his debut album under the guise of The Society Islands. The album is titled Kiss and Tell, and arrives October 20. The Society Islands offered Puddlegum a sneak at the album, and my initial thoughts while listening were "this will do well in the indie market." Fans of Belle and Sabastian, Jeremy Enigk, and 1960s soul will love this disc.

The recording of the 13 song album began in March and ended in May, under Boris Rogowski's creative finger. Andreas Kriegeskorte came in to record the drums, completing the task in one day. Other artists came in to help with bass, guitar, and backing vocals, but the majority of the work was completed by Boris. Rogowski is smart about how he's approaching this.

Scherbaum ConneXion will be promoting the album on radio in Germany, and promoted/marketed by Another Dimension. The Society Islands website will arrive in 2 weeks at www.thesocietyislands.com.

about us

Puddlegum began in 1997 as one of the first online music magazines. It is managed by Flick, and has gained respect from many in the recording industry.

Over the years Puddlegum has accomplished quite a few things we are proud of:
Being mentioned by Thom Yorke during a BBC Radio interview (concerning our Tens Theory), and being written about in Rolling Stone. We have also made the front page of TUAW, Digg, and VH1’s Best Week Ever, and have been featured on USA Today, and Reuters.
