Sleeping at Last: Merry Little Christmas

Posted by Flick in News on 11 27th, 2007 | View Comments

Dan Perdue - 3Sleeping at Last recorded Merry Little Christmas in their home and released it as a free download on their website. The song is downloadable as a zipped file here. While they’re sipping eggnog, Sleeping at Last is beginning to write new songs for their next album.

Sleeping at Last – Merry Little Christmas

“As some of you may know, we have recorded a few Christmas songs in past, so to keep in line with tradition, we decided to go ahead and record another one this year for you to have. This year’s song is Merry Little Christmas. We recorded it in our home and had lots of fun! We hope you enjoy it.”

Two years ago Sleep at Last released an EP called Ghosts of Christmas Past. The limited print CD included two Christmas songs and two b-sides from the Ghost recording sessions, and was independently released several months before Keep No Score.

Sleeping at Last will be performing with a string quartet on December 20 at Chicago’s House of Blues, an annual show where they are backed up by strings. The show has become their “favorite show of the year,” so much so that they are plotting a US tour with a string quartet in 2008 and they’re asking for interested musicians to contact them. “We’re so excited to have received so many responses back from String players about our upcoming String shows across the US in 2008! We’re continuing to collect names of string players, so if you know of anyone that you’d recommend, please send ‘em our way, as there is no deadline for submissions.”

The band has admitted their addiction to Halo 3, and are playing it in between the hours of writing songs and plotting tours. Fans can challenge them on Xbox live: Ryan O’Neal‘s gamer-tag is Billie Holiday and Dan Perdue‘s is oskaringo.

    about us

Puddlegum began in 1997 as one of the first online music magazines. It is managed by Flick, and has gained respect from many in the recording industry.

Over the years Puddlegum has accomplished quite a few things we are proud of:
Being mentioned by Thom Yorke during a BBC Radio interview (concerning our Tens Theory), and being written about in Rolling Stone. We have also made the front page of TUAW, Digg, and VH1’s Best Week Ever, and have been featured on USA Today, and Reuters.
