Sigur Ros: summer festivals, recording fifth album

Posted by Flick in News on 04 18th, 2008 | View Comments

Sigur Ros is adding summer tour dates, playing festivals around Europe. US fans will have an opportunity to see him at Bonnaroo Music Festival on June 14, but soon after that they will be flying back to Europe.

Their fifth studio album was recorded in the month of February, at Sear Sound Studios in New York, a change for the band who has their own studio in Reykjavik, Iceland. Sigur Ros posted photos of their recording session on their Myspace and Flickr pages.

Heima, the band’s film, is continuing to screen around the world in select theaters, as interest continues to build. “The director of Heima, Dean Deblois, will be in attendance at several screenings of the movie in Vancity Theatre in Vancouver, Canada this weekend. The film will be screened in hd / dolby 5.1 sound.” Live footage from the Olafsvik concert on July 24, 2006, is available as a free download on sigurros.com, and Sigur Ros will be giving away additional footage that didn’t make Heima.

    about us

Puddlegum began in 1997 as one of the first online music magazines. It is managed by Flick, and has gained respect from many in the recording industry.

Over the years Puddlegum has accomplished quite a few things we are proud of:
Being mentioned by Thom Yorke during a BBC Radio interview (concerning our Tens Theory), and being written about in Rolling Stone. We have also made the front page of TUAW, Digg, and VH1’s Best Week Ever, and have been featured on USA Today, and Reuters.
