Rafter Roberts: Video Contest for Music for Total Chickens

Posted by Flick in Uncategorized on 12 26th, 2006 | View Comments

Rafter Roberts is prepping for his next release, slated for January 23, 2007. Music for Total Chickens will be released through Asthmatic Kitty, following his 10 Songs release.

To pimp the excitement around this disc, Rafters and Asthmatic Kitty is holding a video contest, with two $500 cash rewards. The Quality Prize will be chosen by "a panel of 'celebrity' judges." The Quantity Prize will be given to the video with the most YouTube views. Both prizes will be given to the four songs that Rafter has made available. The contest lasts until January 23, and the winners will be announced February 14. For more information, watch the Rafter's invitation video below.

Asthmatic Kitty states:

"Perhaps we are jumping on the YouTube shameless self-promotion bandwagon, but why the heck not when we're promoting something that is both pop and lovingly off-kilter as Rafter's Music for Total Chickens."

The "celebrity" judges include Kristen Hersh (Throwing Muses, 50 Foot Wave), Tim Kingsbury (Arcade Fire), Jim Monroe (science-fiction writer), Arto Lindsay, Jonathan Dayton, Valerie Faris, and Peaches.

about us

Puddlegum began in 1997 as one of the first online music magazines. It is managed by Flick, and has gained respect from many in the recording industry.

Over the years Puddlegum has accomplished quite a few things we are proud of:
Being mentioned by Thom Yorke during a BBC Radio interview (concerning our Tens Theory), and being written about in Rolling Stone. We have also made the front page of TUAW, Digg, and VH1’s Best Week Ever, and have been featured on USA Today, and Reuters.
