Puddlegum: your input is needed

Posted by Flick in Puddlegum on 02 29th, 2008 | View Comments

Twhirl - Adobe AirPuddlegum has always wanted to stay on top of the influx of news that we come across. Up until this point we have leaned towards finding stories that soak up our time, requiring research and editing. At the same time, we have wanted to provide short stories and links to stories.

We’re developing a daily wrap-up of stories, a digest of links to stories, that we can share with you every day. We’re beginning to post links to stories through our Twitter account, limited to 140 characters so the links are shortened and the description is to the point. More specifically, we’re using Twhirl, a light-weight but useful Adobe Air application.

Ultimately, we will be importing the RSS feed from our digest of daily links into a a post on Puddlegum. The best method of importing the feed is evading us, and we’re still debating on what to name the daily post.

We’ve added a link to your Twitter account, naming it News for the moment. You won’t have to wait for the daily post, but can visit our Twitter account throughout the day.

We need your input on what to call it. Here’s what we’ve come up with, but we’d love to have feedback, and we’re open to ideas:
The Puddlegum Digest
The Puddlegum Report
The Puddlegum Post

    about us

Puddlegum began in 1997 as one of the first online music magazines. It is managed by Flick, and has gained respect from many in the recording industry.

Over the years Puddlegum has accomplished quite a few things we are proud of:
Being mentioned by Thom Yorke during a BBC Radio interview (concerning our Tens Theory), and being written about in Rolling Stone. We have also made the front page of TUAW, Digg, and VH1’s Best Week Ever, and have been featured on USA Today, and Reuters.
