Pilotdrift is an experimental band that utilizes jazz, rock, and electronic to create an atmospheric sound. Their first album, Water Sphere, created a sonic landscape that drifted from one scene to the next. Good Records Recordings (Polyphonic Spree) picked them up, released the album in September 2005, and put them on tours with Supergrass, Eisley, Lovedrug, and Danielson.
Pilotdrift shared with Puddlegum that they are heading into the studio next week with "plenty of song ideas floating around." They're looking for management to carry them through the second album, and they're anxious to tour again. The band has hopes to break into the European market with their new album, which will be released on Good Records. Each of the members have a wide range of influences, so it'll be interesting to see where they take their cinematic rock.
