Mason Proper: to re-release There Is A Moth In Your Chest

Mason Proper
First, Dovecote Records busted out Aberdeen, and then quietly released Tim Williams. The New York label is now introducing Mason Proper to a nationwide audience. There Is A Moth In Your Chest will hit the shelves on March 13, with Dovecote and Shake It Records teaming up to promote this band. Pre-orders for Mason Proper's new disc will be packaged with a 7" Picture Disc of My My (Bad Fruit) with exclusive B-side Traveling Man, along with a signed poster of the album cover.

Mason Proper was originally called Patterns in Paris, which formed in 2003, according to Wikipedia. In 2005 the band went through some lineup changes, decided to move to Ypsilante, Michigan, changed their names, and began to prepare for their debut album. The new band self-released There Is A Moth In Your Chest one year later on January 17, 2006. Mason Proper attracted a lot of label interest, and decided to sign with Dovecote. The March 13 release has been touched up, with some of the songs re-recorded, and all of them re-mixed and re-mastered by John O'Mahoney (Metric, Matt Pond PA). "What Surfaced is a more gutsy, three-dimensional version of th album that warms the songs and exposes the group's impressive dynamics," mentions Dovecote.

Mason Proper and Dead Bodies will both be celebrating at The Blind Pig in Ann Arbor, Michigan, as both bands are releasing new CDs. Great Lakes Myth Society will also be performing with them at the special show. Currently the band is on a Midwest tour; Birdmonster will join the band for the last half of March.

about us

Puddlegum began in 1997 as one of the first online music magazines. It is managed by Flick, and has gained respect from many in the recording industry.

Over the years Puddlegum has accomplished quite a few things we are proud of:
Being mentioned by Thom Yorke during a BBC Radio interview (concerning our Tens Theory), and being written about in Rolling Stone. We have also made the front page of TUAW, Digg, and VH1’s Best Week Ever, and have been featured on USA Today, and Reuters.
