Make your mix-tape on Muxtape

Posted by Flick in News on 03 25th, 2008 | View Comments

MuxtapeIf you were born in the `70s or `80s you can probably remember making mix-tapes for your boyfriend of girlfriend. I recall spending hours selecting the perfect songs to express my affection. My wife still has a mix-tape that I gave her, though by now the tape is a little worn.

There’s a new website called Muxtape that allows you to upload songs and create your own Muxtape… so new that it launched today. The features are basic, but we’re told that many more options are coming. For now, you can upload twelve Mp3s and organize your Muxtape. When you create your account you’re given the subdomain of your username, so for example Puddlegum’s Muxtape is at puddlegum.muxtape.com.

As you’re listening to a Muxtape, ‘right’ and ‘left’ arrows will switch tracks, and ‘return’ will pause/play the tape. Features to expect in the near future include M4A support, RSS Feeds of your Muxtape, and other customization options. Muxtape’s Tumblr blog tells us to “expect rapid developments.”

Make your Muxtape and share it with us!

about us

Puddlegum began in 1997 as one of the first online music magazines. It is managed by Flick, and has gained respect from many in the recording industry.

Over the years Puddlegum has accomplished quite a few things we are proud of:
Being mentioned by Thom Yorke during a BBC Radio interview (concerning our Tens Theory), and being written about in Rolling Stone. We have also made the front page of TUAW, Digg, and VH1’s Best Week Ever, and have been featured on USA Today, and Reuters.
