M. Ward: To Go Home single, spring tour with Norah Jones

Posted by Flick in Uncategorized on 02 13th, 2007 | View Comments

M. Ward Merge Records is releasing M. Ward's first single from his Post-War release. To Go Home, "a rollicking honky tonk version of the Daniel Johnson tune," will be out February 20 (2007) in North America. 4AD Records released To Go Home on January 29 in Europe, making it available in 7" vinyl, CD, and digital.

Included with the single will be three B-sides. The unreleased tracks are Cosmopolitan Pap, and Human Punching Bag. Ward closes the EP with Headed For A Fall, a Jimmie Dale Gillmore cover, with guest vocals by Jim James and Neko Case.

Those picking up Bright Eyes' new album EP, Four Winds, on March 6 will recognize M. Ward in the background. Four Winds is the first single for the upcoming Bright Eyes album. The five B-sides were recorded during the I'm Wide Awake, It's Morning recording sessions in 2005.

Norah Jones and the Handsome Band have invited Ward to open for her spring tour. M. Ward performed on Norah's Not Too Late, which was released on January 29, 2007.

My Old Kentucky Blog reveals:

"In other M.Ward news, he scored the movie The Go-Getter which was directed by Martin Hynes and is starring Lou Taylor Pucci, Zooey Deschanel, and Jena Malone. It premiered at Sundance this year."

about us

Puddlegum began in 1997 as one of the first online music magazines. It is managed by Flick, and has gained respect from many in the recording industry.

Over the years Puddlegum has accomplished quite a few things we are proud of:
Being mentioned by Thom Yorke during a BBC Radio interview (concerning our Tens Theory), and being written about in Rolling Stone. We have also made the front page of TUAW, Digg, and VH1’s Best Week Ever, and have been featured on USA Today, and Reuters.
