Luke Temple: progress on Snowbeast

Posted by Flick in Uncategorized on 03 8th, 2007 | View Comments

Luke Temple Luke Temple is prepping for his next full-length, Snowbeast, on Mill Pond Records. So far he has posted four mastered tracks on his MySpace: Saturday People, Serious, People Do, and Owl Song. Mill Pond has yet to announce a release date for Snowbeast, and Fargo Records is also mum on when it will be released in the UK and France.

Intrigue Group wrote: "[Luke Temple] recorded it on an old 8-track in his apartment and considers it his greatest achievement to date. It will be released later in the year. Daytrotter recently reviewed the material calling it 'the first keeer of 2007.'"

To add to this, Daytrotter describes Luke Temple's Snowbeast:
"Luke Temple, with what we will call about 40 minutes of silvery, personal pulp, shows that he condones any and all melodies, no matter their dimensions or their forecast. He doesn’t abide by any particular structural mores, just a general belief that the concoctions are memorable and swing sweetly through breezes, like audible tree swings. He’s a fantastic storyteller with an eye for turning those minute details of a life into little pieces of music that can then become memorable."

Snowbeast will feature Robert Stillman, as well as several members of The Subjects. Matthew Pickles shared with Puddlegum, "Rob Stillman and Luke are some of our best friends. Dave and I sing on some of Luke's new album."

Temple and Stillman performed at The Subject's CD release party for With The Ease Grace Precision And Cleverness Of Human Beings on March 3. Catch The Subjects at South by Southwest 's Pretty Activity Showcase on March 14th at the Tap Room at Six.

    about us

Puddlegum began in 1997 as one of the first online music magazines. It is managed by Flick, and has gained respect from many in the recording industry.

Over the years Puddlegum has accomplished quite a few things we are proud of:
Being mentioned by Thom Yorke during a BBC Radio interview (concerning our Tens Theory), and being written about in Rolling Stone. We have also made the front page of TUAW, Digg, and VH1’s Best Week Ever, and have been featured on USA Today, and Reuters.
