Joseph Arthur: new album + new label

Posted by Flick in Uncategorized on 09 19th, 2006 | View Comments

Joseph ArthurJoseph Arthur has set out to start his own record label, Lonely Astronaut Records, with counterparts Lauren Pattenaude and Eric Gerber. Lonely Astronaut will be distributed by RED/Sony, and is being promoted by Wiredset Agency. As Joseph put it, "Our plan is to put great records out often."

Today, 9.19.06, is the release date for Lonely Astronaut's first release. Joseph Arthur is putting his own album out, called Nuclear Daydream. Not waiting long to kick off a tour to support the album, Joseph will hit the road September 25.

On October 10 Joseph Arthur is performing on the David Letterman show, and October 17 will bring him back on television on Craig Ferguson's Late Late Show. Nuclear Daydream is charting well on CMJ, hitting #13 in the first week for Most Added.

The follow-up to Nuclear Daydream is currently being completed, with plans for an early 2007 release. Nuclear Daydream is Joseph Arthur's 13th release in 10 years, his fifth full-length release. Several of his songs have been covered by Chris Martin (Coldplay) and Michael Stipe (REM).

    about us

Puddlegum began in 1997 as one of the first online music magazines. It is managed by Flick, and has gained respect from many in the recording industry.

Over the years Puddlegum has accomplished quite a few things we are proud of:
Being mentioned by Thom Yorke during a BBC Radio interview (concerning our Tens Theory), and being written about in Rolling Stone. We have also made the front page of TUAW, Digg, and VH1’s Best Week Ever, and have been featured on USA Today, and Reuters.
