José González: recording new album

Posted by Flick in Uncategorized on 02 27th, 2007 | View Comments

Jose GonzalezAccording to Imperial Records , José González is working on his sophomore album, to be released in Autumn 2007. José González has seven shows in the US, including a performance at Coahchella Music Festival, and Paste Magazine reports that, "José González will give fans stateside a chance to hear songs from his forthcoming record."

A new video for Zero 7's rendition of José's Futures was added to an upcoming Zero 7 DVD, directed by Robert Seidel. According to 2minds :
"This low-budget video was done within just 2½ weeks for the planned DVD of Zero 7’s The Garden. The video visualizes crushed objects representing a diffuse future of wishes and desires which shape over time. Visible artefacts and the rough synchronisation add subtle emotions to the uncertain process."

The EU commission recently granted José a European Border Breaker Award for Veneer, in step with the critical acclaim his debut album received. The Swedish native has also won the Swedish Government's Music Export Prize at Grammis 2007. To top it off, González's band, Zero 7, was nominated for a Grammy as Best Electronic / Dance Album for their release of The Garden.

about us

Puddlegum began in 1997 as one of the first online music magazines. It is managed by Flick, and has gained respect from many in the recording industry.

Over the years Puddlegum has accomplished quite a few things we are proud of:
Being mentioned by Thom Yorke during a BBC Radio interview (concerning our Tens Theory), and being written about in Rolling Stone. We have also made the front page of TUAW, Digg, and VH1’s Best Week Ever, and have been featured on USA Today, and Reuters.
