After canceling a tour unannounced to spend time with friends in Spain, Jeremy Enigk will reportedly be recording in October in Sant Feliu de Guixols, Spain. Santi Garcia will produce the album at his Ultra Marinos Costa brava recording studio. The album is rumored to be released in 2008 on Jeremy Enigk's label, Lewis Hollow.
The world may not have to wait till 2008 for the next Jeremy Enigk album. He is back in the US, working on unfinished tracks from the World Waits album, and will release an EP of b-sides. Though Puddlegum avoids spreading unconfirmed rumors, this information is drawn from fans and contacts of Enigk that gather on The Fire Theft message board.
While Jeremy Enigk was in Europe he shot a video for River to Sea, directed by Cydonia Films. This is the first official music video from the World Waits album, and was quietly released in March of 2007.
In February, Jeremy Enigk recorded in-studio videos at UGO (Underground Online), performing Canons and World Waits on piano, and River to Sea on acoustic. Enigk also sat down with the producer of UGO for a downloadable interview. In the interview he explains that Canons is about him "being a night owl." He briefly touches on the reason he formed his own label, Lewis Hollow. "I had to start a new label, because I've been on like three or four different labels in my music career over the past 12 or 15 years and none of them worked out. It was inevitable; I had no choice but to start my own label." He also speaks about his "anti-social behavior," and why he dislikes touring.
During the interview he hints at more music to come, saying, "I would like to be recognized for what I'm doing now. I'm not stopping. I'm still young, and I still have a lot to do. So I guess I need to continue plugging away at what I'm doing."
Jeremy Enigk sang background vocals on The Almost's Southern Weather debut, side project of the drummer and singer of Underoath, Aaron Gillespie. Enigk can be heard on the song Dirty and Left Out; the album was released in April of 2007.
