Ivan & Alyosha: The Verse, The Chorus

Posted by Flick in Media, Mp3 Singles, videos on 02 12th, 2009 | View Comments

Ivan & Alyosha are releasing their debut EP called The Verse, The Chorus on February 24th. Tim Wilson and Ryan Carbary formed Ivan & Alyosha (no, they’re not called Tim & Ryan) in 2007 and spent nearly a year writing pensive songs for their EP. In 2007 they recorded with Eli Thomson (Richard Swift) with Frank Lenz (Starflyer 59, The Headphones) on drums. Six months of mixing before sending the songs to TW Walsh (Pedro the Lion, The Soft Drugs) to be mastered.

Names aside, Ivan & Alyosha‘s music is an intriguing throwback to the `60s and early `70s, set to be released on February 24th on Cheap Lullaby Records. Their name is borrowed from Dostoyevsky, Ivan & Alyosha have conjured many elements that made the classics survive over the years.

Puddlegum began in 1997 as one of the first online music magazines. It is managed by Flick, and has gained respect from many in the recording industry.

Over the years Puddlegum has accomplished quite a few things we are proud of:
Being mentioned by Thom Yorke during a BBC Radio interview (concerning our Tens Theory), and being written about in Rolling Stone. We have also made the front page of TUAW, Digg, and VH1’s Best Week Ever, and have been featured on USA Today, and Reuters.
