The Innocence Mission: album coming in March 2007

Karen PerisThe Innocence Mission has announced that they have an "album of new songs" coming in March 2007. This album is following Now The Day Is Over, which featured lullabies and ballads for their child, such as Somewhere Over the Rainbow and Moon River. This will be their ninth full-length album.

The Innocence Mission is signed to Badman Records, and have toured with the likes of Natalie Merchant, Emmylou Harris and 16 HorsePower. Their European label, Agenda Music, reveals: The members of the innocence mission were still in high school when they became friends and bandmates. Singer-songwriter Karen Peris, her husband, guitarist Don Peris and bassist Mike Bitts first performed together as the stage band for their Lancaster, Pa. Catholic school production of "Godspell".

The Innocence Mission reprinted Birds of My Neighborhood in April, an album that went out of print several years ago. We'll keep you updated on this critically acclaimed band. Sufjan Stevens described Birds of My Neighborhood, "Panic and joy, a terrible sense of awe, the dark indentations of memory all come together at once, accompanied by the joyful strum of an acoustic guitar."

Don PerisDon Peris of The Innocence Mission released a new album earlier this year called Go When The Morning Shineth. Denison Witmer and Don jumped on tour to support Don's new album this summer. Don and his wife, Karen, has produced and appeared on most of Witmer's work, adding their unmistakable touch. Denison played classical, acoustic, and electric guitar on several songs on Go When The Morning Shineth.
