Iceland Airwaves Music Festival: over 170 bands
Iceland Airwaves is sponsoring the Iceland Airwaves Music Festival, October 17-21, in celebration to Iceland’s 63rd birthday. Of the 170 bands performing, the lineup for the festival includes: Bloc Party, Of Montreal, !!! (chk chk chk), Best Fwends, Mum, GusGus, Buck 65, Bonde de Role, Annuals, Loney, Dear, Deerhoof, Lali Puna, Benni Hemm Hemm, and Jakobinarina. Over two-thirds of the lineup will be local Icelandic artists.
Reyka Vodka is giving away a free trip to the festival for one winner and nine friends. The winning package is valued at over $10,000, with ten round trip tickets on Icelandair (flying out of New York’s JFK), plus tickets to the Iceland Airwaves Music Festival. Hotel accommodations are provided at Hotel Nordica. Transportation to and from the airport will be provided. Winners will also enjoy a trip to the Blue Lagoon, Iceland’s geothermal seawater spa and waterfall.
