Hype Machine has a new look

Posted by Flick in Uncategorized on 09 15th, 2006 | View Comments

The Hype MachineThe Hype Machine has a new layout. The structure has been adjusted to allow the eye to find things faster. It utilizes ajax, which means that every click doesn't require a page refresh. Anthony Volodkin, the site designer, has created a great site for both the readers, bloggers, and the artists.

What is Hype Machine? The Hype Machine reads thousands of blog RSS feeds. If the latest post contains a link to an mp3 then it promotes the post to the frontpage. Essentially, you can click on the song and listen, search for songs from each artist, buy the music on Amazon, or check out the blog that posted the link. The Hype Machine is a wonderful tool to follow what artists bloggers are talking about.

The Hype Machine also allows the reader to listen to songs in a Flash player, subscribe to RSS feeds in iTunes, or listen to songs in Winamp, Windows Media Player, or Real Player. Each blog has its own set of play lists for listeners to explore.

    about us

Puddlegum began in 1997 as one of the first online music magazines. It is managed by Flick, and has gained respect from many in the recording industry.

Over the years Puddlegum has accomplished quite a few things we are proud of:
Being mentioned by Thom Yorke during a BBC Radio interview (concerning our Tens Theory), and being written about in Rolling Stone. We have also made the front page of TUAW, Digg, and VH1’s Best Week Ever, and have been featured on USA Today, and Reuters.
