Film School: Hideout to be released this fall
Film School has recorded their new full-length called Hideout, hoping to release the album in "probably" September, through Beggars Banquet. They are currently in the process of mixing their new album with Phil Ek (Built to Spill, The Shins), the first time the band used outside help to mix their music. The band will begin touring again this fall, with a few potential shows with Pela.
Krayg Burton shared with Puddlegum that Hideout is, "probably more lush and swirly and driving, maybe more experimental in tones as well, than the last album. To me it's our sound and sentiment, but more realized. There are some female vocals and guest musicians on the album as well, which adds to the diversity."
Film School's debut was in 2001, with an album called Brilliant Career. The band formed when Krayg Burton began recording songs he had written, bringing in what would be the band members to help record his music. They released Always Never EP in 2003 on Amazing Grease Records, Scott Kannberg's label. Film School debuted on Beggars Banquet in January of 2006.
