Fields: Everything Last Winter released on April 2

Posted by Flick in Uncategorized on 03 26th, 2007 | View Comments

Fields released Charming The Flames single today on a new 7" Digital Vinyl format, as a limited release. "The flipside of the 7" is etched with a special code which fans can redeem at a special website for a choice of b-sides unavailable anywhere else – either 'Cold Hearted Machinery' or a cover of My Bloody Valentine's 'When You Sleep'." Charming The Flames is also available as a digital download.

Fields are releasing their debut Everything Last Winter on April 2, via Atlantic Records. The band spent three months recording their debut at Sun Studios in Dublin with Michael Beinhorn (Herbie Hancock, Korn, Soundgarden and Marilyn Manson). According to Wikipedia , their record deal, "allows them to keep releasing records through their own Black Lab Records set-up with the album being released by Atlantic."

Fields are a five-piece Anglo-Icelandic band that formed 18 months prior to their debut. The band approaches their music as a democracy, allowing each member to give input in the musical direction of Fields, which range from Elliott Smith, The Cure, and Pentangle.

This May the band is playing a few East coast shows with Blonde Redhead, two shows in Canada, and a performance at Coachella. Prior to this tour the band will play a short tour in the UK.

"Everything Last Winter, itself a beautifully evocative title suggestive of things lost and gone and spent, is a hypnotic brew of psychedelically tinged guitars with little-girl-lost vocals and occasional bursts of glorious white noise." (Atlantic)

about us

Puddlegum began in 1997 as one of the first online music magazines. It is managed by Flick, and has gained respect from many in the recording industry.

Over the years Puddlegum has accomplished quite a few things we are proud of:
Being mentioned by Thom Yorke during a BBC Radio interview (concerning our Tens Theory), and being written about in Rolling Stone. We have also made the front page of TUAW, Digg, and VH1’s Best Week Ever, and have been featured on USA Today, and Reuters.
