Evoka is preparing to release Cries From The Castlegate Empire early in 2007. "Our story goes much deeper than most know, and it's been a constant swirling with labels and recording," Bryan Ledbetter shared with Puddlegum. "The album will not be released this fall. No date has been set, but we're shooting for 1st quarter of 2007."
Along with the release in 2007, Evoka has been confirmed for a tour with Dead Poetic, who are about to drop their new album on Holloween.
Evoka's Cries From The Castlegate Empire will be a 13 track enhanced CD, with video footage and bonus tracks, complete with a 16 page booklet. The new album will be released on a record label, most likely an independent label.
Evoka finished recording the long-awaited debut in July and is currently with Dan Leffler (Jagger, Cash, Weezer) at Rick Rubins Studio in LA, waiting for final mixes (Leffler/Rubin are currently working on new albums by Enrique Iglesias and U2). Cries From The Castlegate Empire was produced by Oran Thornton (Flick, Golden Republic, House of Heroes).
This summer, Subway licensed Reborn from Evoka and featured them on TV and radio commercials… though this was nothing new for this North Caolina band. Their music has been licensed and played on MTV and ESPN, thanks to Airtype Studio (formerly The Zoo Agency), which is managed by Evoka's drummer, Bryan Ledbetter. I’ve heard this track used on several other radio commercials since 1997. Must be popular.
