Essie Jain: debut album in February

Posted by Flick in Uncategorized on 12 29th, 2006 | View Comments

Essie JainThe label that brought us Beirut is set to break out Essie Jain in February. Ba Da Bing Records will release We Made This Ourselves on February 13. We're told that Essie Jain will perform quite a few US shows in '07, potentially touring Europe. We Made This Ourselves will be pre-released online as a digital album while we wait for the CD.

Self described as "very British," Essie Jain is a London native that now resides in New York City. She has appeared on Patrick Glynn's The Lost Americans recordings and co-produced We Made This Ourselves with Patrick. Essie's song, Why, was released on Kill Rock Stars' The Sound The Hare Heard in May, 2006 and Essie toured the East Coast in July to support it.

Ba Da Bing writes:
"Her album, We Made This Ourselves, is a sparse affair, with piano, guitar and a some subtle touches of percussion (courtesy of Jim White of The Dirty Three). This is one of those albums that are just stunning listens‚ dark, honest, intense."

    about us

Puddlegum began in 1997 as one of the first online music magazines. It is managed by Flick, and has gained respect from many in the recording industry.

Over the years Puddlegum has accomplished quite a few things we are proud of:
Being mentioned by Thom Yorke during a BBC Radio interview (concerning our Tens Theory), and being written about in Rolling Stone. We have also made the front page of TUAW, Digg, and VH1’s Best Week Ever, and have been featured on USA Today, and Reuters.
