Elliott Smith: new album coming

Posted by Flick in Uncategorized on 09 4th, 2006 | View Comments

October 21st will mark the third year since Elliott Smith's passing. Slated for March 15, 2007, Elliott Smith will, for the second time, posthumously release a new album on Kill Rock Stars. ** Smith had been working on From A Basement On A Hill since 2000 and left enough rough material behind to fill two albums. Though the evidence of his suicide is inconclusive, the pain and honesty of his life will live on with this new release.

** UPDATE: Elliott Smith: New Moon coming on May 7

Evidence of Elliott Smith's impact is exemplified by events being held for the Elliott Smith Memorial Fund (a non-profit organization for helping victims of abuse) on October 21st:

Chicago (Lansing), IL
Stand-up Comics
3429 Ridge Rd, Lansing, IL
The Encyclopedias, Matt Heckler, Todd Stephanuik, Felix Bieker
contact: theysangthesolo@gmail.com

Hollwoos, CA
Bliss Cafe

(they are currently looking for artists to perform covers and original material.)

about us

Puddlegum began in 1997 as one of the first online music magazines. It is managed by Flick, and has gained respect from many in the recording industry.

Over the years Puddlegum has accomplished quite a few things we are proud of:
Being mentioned by Thom Yorke during a BBC Radio interview (concerning our Tens Theory), and being written about in Rolling Stone. We have also made the front page of TUAW, Digg, and VH1’s Best Week Ever, and have been featured on USA Today, and Reuters.
