Electrelane: to open for Arcade Fire in Europe

Posted by Flick in Uncategorized on 03 6th, 2007 | View Comments

Electrelane will receive major exposure as they opening for Arcade Fire in Europe, March 16 through April 5. Timed perfectly with the Arcade Fire tour is the band's first single, To The East, from their upcoming album, No Shouts, No Calls. The single will hit March 12.

In May Electrelane will headline their own tour, playing shows in Europe with The Early Years , and in North America with The Blow, and Tender Forever. "We're looking forward to playing live again, and coming to some of the places we didn't make it to last time!"

Arcade Fire released their much hyped album, Neon Bible , on March 5 in Europe, and March 6 in North America. Their shows have been selling out in only five minutes, undoubtedly making the opening slot a highly contested place to perform.

Too Pure wrote, "Electrelane preempt their album No Shouts, No Calls with the single To The East, backed with the exclusive Carolina Wren (a treat which emerged from the recent album sessions in Benton Harbour, MI) available in 7" and download formats."

On April 30, Electrelane will release their fourth full-length, No Shouts, No Calls. "The album recently appeared online to an outstanding reception within the blogosphere." No Shouts, No Calls was recorded at Planet Roc studios in Berlin over the summer of 2006, and in Benton Harbor, Michigan, in September. Check out the Too Pure podcast, which reveals more information about Electrelane's upcoming album.

about us

Puddlegum began in 1997 as one of the first online music magazines. It is managed by Flick, and has gained respect from many in the recording industry.

Over the years Puddlegum has accomplished quite a few things we are proud of:
Being mentioned by Thom Yorke during a BBC Radio interview (concerning our Tens Theory), and being written about in Rolling Stone. We have also made the front page of TUAW, Digg, and VH1’s Best Week Ever, and have been featured on USA Today, and Reuters.
