The Early Years: new album finished

Posted by Flick in Uncategorized on 04 27th, 2007 | View Comments

The Early YearsThe Early Years have finished recording new material, and updated fans today with details of upcoming shows. "We're emerging from our Hackney Studio with a host of exciting events." The band has a new bass player, Brendan Kersey, who "has been helping us out since the Latitude festival last summer." They wrote that it "seems like a logical time to induct Brendan into the band."

The band has eight shows in the UK lined up in May, several of them with Electrelane. They're also performing as The Early Years DJ set, with live remixes. This leaves speculation over the band's new material, if it will continue in the direction of their layered guitar effects, or if it will be mostly remixes. Their update also shared, "We're hoping to do an Engineers remix at some point this year."

The latest The Early Years release was The Great Awakening EP, a four track album that came out February 19 on Beggars Banquet. In 2006 the band showed their proficiency in writing and recording by releasing two EPs and their debut full-length. The Early YearsWith a release in February and a fresh stack of tracks, 2006 points to another accomplished year.

    about us

Puddlegum began in 1997 as one of the first online music magazines. It is managed by Flick, and has gained respect from many in the recording industry.

Over the years Puddlegum has accomplished quite a few things we are proud of:
Being mentioned by Thom Yorke during a BBC Radio interview (concerning our Tens Theory), and being written about in Rolling Stone. We have also made the front page of TUAW, Digg, and VH1’s Best Week Ever, and have been featured on USA Today, and Reuters.
