Dr. Dog to release Shame, Shame

Posted by Flick in Media, Mp3 Singles, videos on 01 20th, 2010 | View Comments

Dr. Dog’s latest album, Fate, has been on solid rotation since I listened their timeless sixth album not long after it was released last year. You can imagine my excitement when I read that Dr. Dog has finished another full-length, called Shame, Shame, to be released through Anti Records on April 6th. This will be the sixth album since 2002 from this Philadelphia quintet.

From Big Hassle’s press release:

“It’s an album whose themes of doubt, confusion and unanswered questions are soothed by bright harmonies, taut guitar riffs and soaring melodies. From beginning to end, Shame, Shame is a record destined to claim its place on the timeless margins, untouched by modern tastes and content to exist on its own terms.”

Dr DogAs a gimmick to increase their Facebook fanbase, Dr. Dog promises to a song once they’ve reached 20,000 fans (8,000 to go). This is a smart move since it gives fans an incentive to find them on Facebook and invite their friends to ‘fan’ the band as well. Obviously, a large fanbase on Facebook gives them the benefit of informing their fans of upcoming events and announcements on a platform that they’re already using.

Starting April 14th Dr. Dog will begin their spring tour with Deer Tick; tickets go on sale on January 22nd.

If you haven’t heard Dr. Dog yet, pick up a copy of Fate while you’re waiting for and prepare yourself for a treat.
