Domino Records signs Benjy Ferree

Posted by Flick in Uncategorized on 10 23rd, 2006 | View Comments

Benjy FerreeDomino Records has signed Benjy Ferree, their first US artist from across the pond. This Washington DC resident first aspired to act and moved to LA out high school to pursue the silver screen. But after meeting frustrations, Ferree returned  home, when he got to know Brendan Canty (Fugazi) and was encouraged to continue writing his indie-rock meets honky tonk songs. With the help of this new relationship, these songs turned into the material for his first album.

Benjy Ferree recorded Leaving the Nest with Dennis Kane and Brendan Canty mixed the EP. First released on Box Theory Records and Planaria Records, Leaving The Nest is being re-released on Domino Records in the US on November 7. Europe will wait for an early 2007 release as Benjy tours the US with Archie Bronson Outfit and Portastatic.

    about us

Puddlegum began in 1997 as one of the first online music magazines. It is managed by Flick, and has gained respect from many in the recording industry.

Over the years Puddlegum has accomplished quite a few things we are proud of:
Being mentioned by Thom Yorke during a BBC Radio interview (concerning our Tens Theory), and being written about in Rolling Stone. We have also made the front page of TUAW, Digg, and VH1’s Best Week Ever, and have been featured on USA Today, and Reuters.
