Denison Witmer and Rosie Thomas: These Friends of Mine tour

Posted by Flick in Uncategorized on 03 22nd, 2007 | View Comments

Denison Witmer and Rosie Thomas will be touring the continental US and Europe, performing eight shows both sides of the Atlantic for a total of sixteen shows. "Denison and Rosie will be sharing the stage with friends, playing a collection of songs from both Rosie's and Denison's catalog," mentions Denison's website. More information about the Witmer and Thomas tour can be found here.

On March 13 Rosie Thomas released These Friends of Mine, featuring Denison Witmer and Sufjan Stevens throughout the album. Joshua Myers produced this acoustic collaboration, the same ears behind Jeremy Enigk's World Waits.

Denison Witmer will be involved in several benefits during the tour. On April 14 Witmer will take part in the Philabundance and Hunger Walk in Philadelphia. "These organizations, staffed almost entirely by volunteers, work tirelessly to provide more than 41,000 meals per day to people in need." To help raise funds, Witmer is hosting a contest for a hand bag that he knit. "The bag being raffled is hand-knit and then felted, with a 100% cotton liner (removable, washable) on the inside." Tickets for the contest are being sold for $5 at his shows, prior to the April 14 deadline.

On April 27 Denison Witmer will perform at the Invisible Children Benefit Show at North Central College (The Union) in Naperville, Illinois.

In November Witmer opened a website called Happy Birthday Denison to help raise funds for Musicians on Call and Partners in Health. The website has information about these charities, as well as 33 songs by Denison Witmer made available for free. Each year on his birthday, Witmer will offer more songs to help raise funds for these charities.

    about us

Puddlegum began in 1997 as one of the first online music magazines. It is managed by Flick, and has gained respect from many in the recording industry.

Over the years Puddlegum has accomplished quite a few things we are proud of:
Being mentioned by Thom Yorke during a BBC Radio interview (concerning our Tens Theory), and being written about in Rolling Stone. We have also made the front page of TUAW, Digg, and VH1’s Best Week Ever, and have been featured on USA Today, and Reuters.
