Dead Poetic: Vices out on Halloween

Posted by Flick in Uncategorized on 10 19th, 2006 | View Comments

Dead Poetic

Since the time New Medicines was released, Dead Poetic switched out half of their band members and reshaped their sound. One of the most talented drummers in the industry, Jesse Sprinkle (Poor Old Lu, The World Inside) left Demon Hunter and months later joined Dead Poetic on drums. The band took the needed time to tour, write songs, and record.

The new Dead Poetic album, Vices, promises to be a straight-up rock album, not posing to be screamcore. Jesse's brother, Aaron Sprinkle of Tooth and Nail, produced most of the songs on the album, with several songs being produced by Deftone's Chino Moreno. Vices will hit the stores on Holloween, October 31. As Puddlegum reported, Dead Poetic will be touring in early 2007 with Evoka, and expect to see tour dates announced soon.

In August the band traveled to Hollywood for a photo shoot and film a music video for their first single, Narcotic. Jeff Gros handled the photo shoot, and Mink directed the video. "We arrived to several trucks, and dozens of people, all working on OUR video! One truck was full of guitar cabs that would be used in the video. The others were various pieces of stage, screen, etc. We were floored, to say the least," Brandon Rike wrote in the band journal.

about us

Puddlegum began in 1997 as one of the first online music magazines. It is managed by Flick, and has gained respect from many in the recording industry.

Over the years Puddlegum has accomplished quite a few things we are proud of:
Being mentioned by Thom Yorke during a BBC Radio interview (concerning our Tens Theory), and being written about in Rolling Stone. We have also made the front page of TUAW, Digg, and VH1’s Best Week Ever, and have been featured on USA Today, and Reuters.
