David Bazan: signs with Barsuk Records

Posted by Flick in Uncategorized on 05 14th, 2007 | View Comments

David Bazan David Bazan has signed with Seattle's Barsuk Records, with a planned re-release of Fewer Moving Parts EP on May 22. Barsuk has announced, "We have tentatively scheduled a full-length release of new material for early 2008."

In 2006, Pedro the Lion broke up, which left Bazan without a record contract. He originally planned to stay with Jade Tree and begin recording a full length solo album for a 2007 release. Instead, Bazan independently released a his EP late in 2006. Besides touring, bazan has been recording new material in his home studio.

David Bazan is currently on a sold-out tour with Ben Gibbard and Jonathan Rice during the month of May. It's interesting to note that Gibbard's band, Death Cab for Cutie, released a number of albums on Barsuk before inking a deal with Atlantic.

Bazan will perform a few shows in June with The New Year. Matt and Bubba Kadane, of The New Year, have released two albums with Touch and Go Records.

    about us

Puddlegum began in 1997 as one of the first online music magazines. It is managed by Flick, and has gained respect from many in the recording industry.

Over the years Puddlegum has accomplished quite a few things we are proud of:
Being mentioned by Thom Yorke during a BBC Radio interview (concerning our Tens Theory), and being written about in Rolling Stone. We have also made the front page of TUAW, Digg, and VH1’s Best Week Ever, and have been featured on USA Today, and Reuters.
