Damien Jurado: And Now That I’m In Your Shadow released on October 10

Posted by Flick in Puddlegum Archives on 10 3rd, 2006 | View Comments

Damien JuradoNo longer a solo artist, Damien Jurado has a band of permanent members. Joined by Eric Fisher and Jenna Fisher, Damien is entering a new stage of his career as an artist. Count it 19 albums of all lengths, shapes, and sizes in 10 years. He has been anything but stagnant. His passion for 7" vinyl and EPs fill in the small gaps between full-lengths.

Damien Jurado and band is releasing And Now That I'm In Your Shadow on October 10, on Secretly Canadian. "The songs are old friends and close relatives, quarreling loves and love lost, the very thoughts that cross your mind when you are alone or among the crowd," describes his website.

Last week Damien Jurado released a cover of Pink Moon (Nick Drake) on Spin Magazine's website. For years journalists have been comparing Jurado to Drake. Enjoy his interpretation of this classic.

Damien Jurado – Texas to Ohio

While the band is on the road they'll keep up an audio blog (andnowthatiminyourshadow.blogspot.com) of phone calls, live recordings, and photos. Maybe Damien will eventually release an entire album of these phone calls. In 2000 he released Postcards and Audio Letters, an entire album of recorded phone calls that he found on old answering machines sold in thrift stores.

    about us

Puddlegum began in 1997 as one of the first online music magazines. It is managed by Flick, and has gained respect from many in the recording industry.

Over the years Puddlegum has accomplished quite a few things we are proud of:
Being mentioned by Thom Yorke during a BBC Radio interview (concerning our Tens Theory), and being written about in Rolling Stone. We have also made the front page of TUAW, Digg, and VH1’s Best Week Ever, and have been featured on USA Today, and Reuters.
