The Constantines: spring tour with new album in the making

Posted by Flick in Uncategorized on 03 16th, 2007 | View Comments

The Constantines at the Pink Pony The Constantines have written songs for their follow-up to Tournament of Hearts, and tonight, March 16, kicks off their spring tour across their homeland of Canada. "We'll be trying these new tunes out on the road in the coming months in halls big and small." Expect to see the band recording their new material after their Spring tour that ends mid-april.

The Constantine's website stated: "We’re making a full run across canada, coast to distant coast with Jon-Rae and the River, joined in the east by Shotgun and Jaybird, and in the west by Ladyhawk. this is a rock show not to be missed, my friends, and we hope truly to see you there."

In the Fall of 2006, members of The Constantines released two side projects. Steve Lambke released a self-titled album under the name of Baby Eagle, released on Outside Records. Will Kidman released Quiet Waters, also on Outside Records, under the name of Woolly Leaves. Baby Eagle and Woolly Leaves filled empty dates while The Constantines toured with The Hold Steady through the end of `06. Woolly Leaves started the new year with a Canadian tour with Julie Doiron and Shotgun and Jaybird.

Members of Shotgun and Jaybird are starting a new record label called Sackville. "Steve 'Baby Eagle' Lambke came out to the farm over Christmas to record a new record. New Sackville upstarts the Chorus Leave recorded a single and plan to do some more in the new year and high school prodigies West Ave are coming over shortly to work on a record."

about us

Puddlegum began in 1997 as one of the first online music magazines. It is managed by Flick, and has gained respect from many in the recording industry.

Over the years Puddlegum has accomplished quite a few things we are proud of:
Being mentioned by Thom Yorke during a BBC Radio interview (concerning our Tens Theory), and being written about in Rolling Stone. We have also made the front page of TUAW, Digg, and VH1’s Best Week Ever, and have been featured on USA Today, and Reuters.
