The Constantines: side projects and a winter tour

Posted by Flick in Uncategorized on 11 20th, 2006 | View Comments

The ConstantinesThe Constantines released Tournament of Hearts in September 2005 and have been living on the road since. Starting November 21, The Constantines will begin a spotty tour, performing 12 shows with the likes of The Hold Steady, Lullabye Arkestra, Shotgun and Jaybird, The Creeping Nobodies, The Tragically Hip, and Jason Collet. After two US shows with Hold Steady, The Constantines will return North to their home country of Canada.

Keyboardist for The Constantines since their EP on Suicide Squeeze, Will Kidman has released a solo project under the moniker of Woolly Leaves. His first release, Quiet Waters, came out on September 19, a calm acoustic folk album with vocals comparable to Conor Oberst of Bright Eyes. While The Constantines are preparing for their gig in Waterloo, Ontario on November 29, Woolly Leaves will serenade audiences for three nights before hitting the keys for his Three Gut Records and Sub Pop band.

In spite of their relentless touring, guitarist for The Constantines, Steve Lambke also released a solo album on Outside Records, the same label that released Woolly Leaves. Lambke's project is called Baby Eagle, and was recorded in less than a week. The self-titled album landed in Canada on October 3, 2006. Lambke is tossing in a show on December 7 in Toronto.

about us

Puddlegum began in 1997 as one of the first online music magazines. It is managed by Flick, and has gained respect from many in the recording industry.

Over the years Puddlegum has accomplished quite a few things we are proud of:
Being mentioned by Thom Yorke during a BBC Radio interview (concerning our Tens Theory), and being written about in Rolling Stone. We have also made the front page of TUAW, Digg, and VH1’s Best Week Ever, and have been featured on USA Today, and Reuters.
