Buildings Breeding: self-titled debut

Posted by Flick in Uncategorized on 01 25th, 2007 | View Comments

Buildings BreedingIndie rockers and lo-fi fiends are beginning to buzz about Buildings Breeding. On January 23 the band released their debut album through Mushpot Records, as the label's first full-length release. Originally planned to be released under the title Married to the Sea… Carried to Land, the band dropped the album name and released it as a self-title.

Fanatic Promotion pushed Buildings Breeding's album to 300 college radio stations earlier this month, breaking the band into CMJ's Radio 200 Adds at #6, and debuting at #46.

Half of the songs on Buildings Breeding were mixed by Aaron Prellwitz (Sun kil moon, Hella, Alaska!) at John Vanderslice's Tiny Telephone recording studio. Buildings Breeding has plans to record a vinyl EP at Tiny Telephone, and will be at South by Southwest via Fanatic Promotion.

Buildings Breeding - Buildings BreedingAs for the beginnings of Buildings Breeding, they started out more as a fluke:
"Buildings Breeding multi-instrumentalist Chris Larsen started this project as a complete farce. He created a MySpace page for a fictional Chicago quartet, creating numerous songs on his own for Melanie Glover, who was overseas at the time. Fascinated by the tunes, Glover accompanied the recordings with a tambourine. Larsen found her rhythmic flair and bought her a drum set, and Buildings Breeding was born."

    about us

Puddlegum began in 1997 as one of the first online music magazines. It is managed by Flick, and has gained respect from many in the recording industry.

Over the years Puddlegum has accomplished quite a few things we are proud of:
Being mentioned by Thom Yorke during a BBC Radio interview (concerning our Tens Theory), and being written about in Rolling Stone. We have also made the front page of TUAW, Digg, and VH1’s Best Week Ever, and have been featured on USA Today, and Reuters.
