Bright Eyes to release Four Winds EP on March 6

Posted by Flick in Uncategorized on 12 29th, 2006 | View Comments

Saddle Creek will be taking pre-orders for the new Bright Eyes album on January 23. The band "spent much of 2006 in the studio working on their follow-up to the acclaimed simultaneous releases I'm Wide Awake, It's Morning and Digital Ash in a Digital Urn. The first single, 'Four Winds', is presented with 5 exclusive B-sides from the 2006 recording sessions." Four Winds EP will be released March 6, while the full length will hit stores on April 10.

Conor Oberst and Bright Eyes continue to release music under Oberst's label, distributed through Sony. Don't call it a solo project as Bright Eyes is now a concrete band; Mike Mogis and Nate Walcott are staying on board with Oberst.

Saddle Creek has a second release on the same day with Maria Taylor's sophomore album, Lynn Teeter Flower. Saddle Creek promises that her follow-up to 11:11, "takes her songcraft one step further, mixing together soaring guitars, bubbly electronics, feathery farfisa organs and sugary layers of vocals into the sweetest confection of an album you’ll hear all year."

Bright Eyes – Amy In The White Coat
Bright Eyes – I Will Be Grateful
Bright Eyes – Lua
Bright Eyes – We Are Nowhere
Bright Eyes – Take It Easy
Bright Eyes – Gold Mine Gutted
Maria Taylor – Song Beneath
Maria Taylor – Speak Easy

about us

Puddlegum began in 1997 as one of the first online music magazines. It is managed by Flick, and has gained respect from many in the recording industry.

Over the years Puddlegum has accomplished quite a few things we are proud of:
Being mentioned by Thom Yorke during a BBC Radio interview (concerning our Tens Theory), and being written about in Rolling Stone. We have also made the front page of TUAW, Digg, and VH1’s Best Week Ever, and have been featured on USA Today, and Reuters.
