Bowerbirds: tour with John Vanderslice and The Mountain Goats

Bowerbirds have announced a North American tour that would excite many independent bands. Their tour begins in their home town of Raleigh, North Carolina. A jaunt out West will take them down the coast with John Vanderslice. Late September finds them touring the North East with The Mountain Goats.

Bowerbirds’ recent release on Burly Time Records, Hymns For a Dark Horse, is gathering momentum in the independent market, building on press from Pitchfork, Harp, Venus, and Time Out New York.

“This Raleigh trio reaches beyond the humble instrumentation of nylon-stringed guitar, accordion, violin and bare-bones percussion to create deceptively intricate and alluring arrangements.
