Ben Gibbard on The Tonight Show + Chris Walla solo album

Posted by Flick in Uncategorized on 09 21st, 2006 | View Comments

Death Cab for CutieBe sure to catch Ben Gibbard from the Death Cab for Cutie fame on Jay Leno's The Tonight Show this Monday. Ben will perform I Will Follow You Into The Dark. The show airs at 11:35 PST/EST, and includes Eva Longoria from Desperate Housewives. Ben Gibbard has been performing solo recently, notable that many of his performances have been at benefits… such as the beneifit show for Rogue Wave's drummer.

One year after the release of Plans, which was nominated for a Grammy for Best Alternative Album of 2005, Death Cab for Cutie appears to be taking a short break. Chris Walla has been busy recording and producing at his Hall of Justice recording studio in Portland Oregon. On August 12, Chris Walla announced that he will be releasing a solo album on Barsuk Records in March of 2007. Barsuk Records is the home of Death Cab for Cutie, having licensed three albums (starting with Plans) to Atlantic Records.

Chris Walla's project has yet to be named, and Chris is undecided on whether or not he will go under a band name or work under his own name. Chris shared on his website, "I may end up with a band name after all. Please send ideas along if you have them; I'm undecided about the whole thing." In 1999 Chris released a project under the name of Martin Youth Auxilliary.

Death Cab for Cutie – Song for Kelly Huckaby (Death Cab Forbidden Love EP)

Chris Walla – New Candles

(Ten additional songs have been posted under his solo name over the past year at Chris Walla's Hall of Justice.)

    about us

Puddlegum began in 1997 as one of the first online music magazines. It is managed by Flick, and has gained respect from many in the recording industry.

Over the years Puddlegum has accomplished quite a few things we are proud of:
Being mentioned by Thom Yorke during a BBC Radio interview (concerning our Tens Theory), and being written about in Rolling Stone. We have also made the front page of TUAW, Digg, and VH1’s Best Week Ever, and have been featured on USA Today, and Reuters.
