Audrye Sessions cover Elliott Smith’s Waltz #2

Posted by Flick in Media, Mp3 Singles, videos on 11 7th, 2008 | View Comments

While we were in between Puddlegum and Chasing Lions, the anniversary of Elliott Smith’s death came. Ironically, I was thinking a lot about Elliott that day, not realizing what day it was.

And then this week I received this email with a cover of Elliott. Audrye Sessions recorded a live interpretation of Waltz #2, stepping away from their melodic pop to reflect on Smith. Audrye Sessions’ Waltz #2 was originally posted on The Tripwire. Elliott would be humbled to know how badly he is missed.

“I’m never going to know you now
But I’m gonna love you anyhow”
– Elliott Smith (Waltz #2)

Audrye Sessions – Waltz #2 (Elliott Smith cover)

Audrye Sessions’ full length is coming out on February 17, 2009, but their EP that came out on October 30 can tie you over. The Elliott Smith is only available on the interwebs, so please pass the song on to your friends.

Audrye Sessions released a video for Turn Me Off, available on their EP:

about us

Puddlegum began in 1997 as one of the first online music magazines. It is managed by Flick, and has gained respect from many in the recording industry.

Over the years Puddlegum has accomplished quite a few things we are proud of:
Being mentioned by Thom Yorke during a BBC Radio interview (concerning our Tens Theory), and being written about in Rolling Stone. We have also made the front page of TUAW, Digg, and VH1’s Best Week Ever, and have been featured on USA Today, and Reuters.
