The Arcade Fire: Us kids want to know!

Posted by Flick in Uncategorized on 12 7th, 2006 | View Comments

The Arcade FireAccording to Pitchfork Media, The Arcade Fire has listed five shows in London at the end of January. NME adds, "Tickets go onsale at 9am tomorrow (December 8)." (NME Ticketline is 0870 1 663 663)

**Update: All tickets sold out in 2 minutes (NME)**

Showing the demand and excitement that these shows will bring, The Arcade Fire will perform three shows at St. John's, Smith Square followed by two shows at Porchester Hall. St. John's Smith Square normally hosts formal concerts and orchestral arrangements, with a capacity of up to 780.

St. John's, Smith SquareThe Billions reveal that the band will be headlining a tour between April and June 2007. The band's next album will be announced soon, rumored to have a March 2007 release date.

The band has been working on the album since the summer, self-producing the album. "We already know how we want things to sound so we should just run after that sound as fast as we can and not rely on somone else to guide the good ship Arcade Fire."

The forum on The Arcade Fire's fansite, Us Kids Know, was full of chatter with the announcement. A flier in France showed that they'll play in Lille on April 5th at the Areonef. This may point to a European tour following the album release. Note that this isn't confirmed.

Puddlegum contacted The Arcade Fire's management agency, but Quest Management would not give any information out "due to the respect of our client." We understand, but us kids want to know!

about us

Puddlegum began in 1997 as one of the first online music magazines. It is managed by Flick, and has gained respect from many in the recording industry.

Over the years Puddlegum has accomplished quite a few things we are proud of:
Being mentioned by Thom Yorke during a BBC Radio interview (concerning our Tens Theory), and being written about in Rolling Stone. We have also made the front page of TUAW, Digg, and VH1’s Best Week Ever, and have been featured on USA Today, and Reuters.
