Andrew Bird: to start working on new album in February

Posted by Flick in News on 12 4th, 2007 | View Comments

Andrew Bird has a few scattered shows in December, playing in Los Angelas, San Francisco, and two shows in Minneapolis. The new year will take Andrew Bird down under to Australia and New Zealand. Bird will perform at the Sydney Festival for three consecutive days. This will be Andrew’s first time in New Zealand.

“These will be the last shows he plays for quite a while – he’ll then take a bunch of time off from all of this touring to start working on a new album.” (Myspace)

Andrew Bird’s music video for Imitosis is featured on MTVU’s The Freshman. If Bird receives enough votes then the video will be added to the MTVU rotation. Andrew gave his campaign speech on his Myspace blog:

“If elected, I promise to re-install solar panels on the white house, send everyone to electoral college, give free bicycles to all who want one, and serve s’mores at my fireside talks (there will be snacks!) Oh wait, I’m not running for president. (yet) Sorry – let’s stay on point, VOTE FOR IMITOSIS!“

Andrew Bird was nominated for 2007 Plug Award’s Best Male Artist. So if you’re in the mood for voting, then vote for Bird here.

about us

Puddlegum began in 1997 as one of the first online music magazines. It is managed by Flick, and has gained respect from many in the recording industry.

Over the years Puddlegum has accomplished quite a few things we are proud of:
Being mentioned by Thom Yorke during a BBC Radio interview (concerning our Tens Theory), and being written about in Rolling Stone. We have also made the front page of TUAW, Digg, and VH1’s Best Week Ever, and have been featured on USA Today, and Reuters.
