4ad: Wolf and Cub and Blonde Redhead on April 2

Posted by Flick in Uncategorized on 03 27th, 2007 | View Comments

4ad Records is releasing Wolf and Cub's Vessels debut on April 2, and Blonde Redhead's first single and title track for their upcoming album, 23. The Blonde Redhead will be out as an "incredibly limited" 7" vinyl.

Wolf and Cub's first release was produced by Tony Doogan (Mogwai, Super Furry Animals), described by 4ad as, "an adrenalised and darkly psychedelic long player." Wolf and Cub released a 3 track EP to promote their first single, This Mess, through Melbourne's Dot Dash Records, as their Vessels LP has already been released in Australia. Wolf and Cub is currently on the road with Wolfmother.

Blonde Redhead will release their seventh full-length and fifth EP single since 1995. The LP is hitting North America on April 16, and April 23 in Europe. The entire album was leaked on the Internet on February 26.

"The opening title track, with it's shoegazy guitars and Makino's soaring vocals, sets the stage for a career defining album. This is music that pulls you deeply into it's atmosphere and beauty. Clearly, this is one of the best albums of 2007." (Mars Needs Guitars)

about us

Puddlegum began in 1997 as one of the first online music magazines. It is managed by Flick, and has gained respect from many in the recording industry.

Over the years Puddlegum has accomplished quite a few things we are proud of:
Being mentioned by Thom Yorke during a BBC Radio interview (concerning our Tens Theory), and being written about in Rolling Stone. We have also made the front page of TUAW, Digg, and VH1’s Best Week Ever, and have been featured on USA Today, and Reuters.
